Michel Faro do Prado, 44, from Brazil, has dozens of tattoos and piercings, in addition to head implants and customised teeth. Now, in a bid to enhance his devil-like image, he has had his nose removed. Michel’s wife specialises in body modifications and has said her husband is only the third person in the world to have had the strange procedure. Paramount Pictures The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company dividends must have come through, because it turns out Forrest Gump himself helped pay for parts of the movie after the studio couldn’t afford it.  During filming the 1994 movie, Hanks was approached by Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis who asked Hanks to become a ‘collaborator’ of the film, rather than just its lead. With Hanks becoming a collaborator with Zemeckis, the director promised to keep him in the loop with everything and, following discussions with the Paramount Studios, that he’d receive some of the movie’s profits if Hanks were to financially contribute too. davidattenborough/Instagram Sir David Attenborough has joined Instagram at the age of 94 in a bid to save the planet.  The television legend has dubbed that trying to saving the planet is a ‘communications challenge’, so has joined the popular social media app in the hope of reaching out to more people. He added that, ‘we know what to do [to save the planet], we just need the will.’ At the time of writing, Sir David has already generated an impressive 252,000 followers. Unsplash Scientists have discovered a ‘Pi Earth’ – and no, it doesn’t come in different fruity flavours. The name comes from the fact this new Earth-sized planet orbits a star every 3.14 days, in correlation with the mathematical constant pi, whose value is 3.14159265359 and so on. To successfully orbit the star in such a quick time, the planet, labelled K2-315b, travels around 181,000 miles per hour (81 kilometres per second). K2-315b isn’t perfectly Earth sized though; according to researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the newly discovered planet has a radius 0.95 that of Earth’s, so it’s very nearly the same size. Wikimedia MIT researchers found signals of the planet using data from the 2017 NASA Kepler Space Telescope’s K2 mission. They then ‘zeroed in’ on the signals earlier this year using SPECULOOS, a network of ground-based telescopes.
