ABC7/Nicole Lillig Klosowski/Twitter Police are investigating an ‘act of vandalism’ after a Black Lives Mural outside of Chicago was defaced to read ‘All Lives Matter’.  Authorities in Oak Park, a village near the Illinois city, said the incident took place overnight from Tuesday, July 7, into the following morning. The mural, nearly 100ft in width and located near Oak Park and River Forest High School, had only been painted two weeks ago. While police have yet to make any arrests connected with the vandalism, officers have ‘gathered evidence they hope will identify’ those responsible. Someone vandalized the BLM street painting in Oak Park, two blocks from my home. In this village people pride themselves on their openness to and respect for diversity. Scientists Believe The Moon Is Now Rusting

Unsplash The Moon’s surface has started to turn red, leading scientists to believe the planet may be rusting.  Rust – or iron oxide – is created when iron comes into contact with water and oxygen; two things the moon does not have. This has left the researchers at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who obtained the data puzzled as to how it has been created. PA Images A reddish-black mineral form of iron called hematite has been discovered to be forming, especially near the Moon’s poles, which is giving it this unique colouring. Lead author of the paper detailing the discovery is Shuai Li of the University of Hawaii, who described the findings ‘very puzzling’. He added that ‘the Moon is a terrible environment for hematite to form in’. Li then turned to JPL scientists Abigail Fraeman and Vivian Sun to see if they could help.
